Motorola DCX 3200M cable box.

I have Cox Cable TV, Phone and Internet service.  My Samsung Smart TV has Web capabilities as well as NetFlix.  There is an ethernet port on the Motorola cable box.  Will that port pass an internet connection to the TV via ethernet cable connections?

Thanks Mike Gibson

No, Im afraid not. The ethernet port is put there by Motorola for providers other then Cox that may use the internet (IP) instead of cable for different cable services. Since Cox only uses cable, the ethernet port is disabled.

There are other options. The most straight forward is to run a CAT5E ethernet wire over to your TV, or have a electrician "wall fish" a ethernet port to that area, but that would need a reorganizing of your network. You could also get a wireless bridge maybe something like this  . Or if you have modern electrical system, you could try Powerline.

Also, your TV may have something specially designed for it, like this.  Hope that helps
