MLB Extra Innings and MLB.tv

When I purchased the MLB Extra Innings package from Cox recently, I was told by the sales associate that it included MLB.tv which is important to me because I often like to watch baseball away from home (primarily at the gym).  I cannot find how to add MLB.tv to my mobile device or computer without paying a separate charge.  How do I add MLB.tv as the sales associate promised?

Hi Tlane623,

We are still working on the registration/authentication process with MLB, so at this time our customers are unable to register for MLB.TV. We will let you know as soon as we get word that the registration process has been confirmed!

Hi Tlane623,

I wanted to update you and let you know that you should now be able to register for MLB TV. Go to http://www.mlb.com/redeem/cox/ and use your 16 digit Cox account number when setting up your account. Let me know if you have any difficulties!

MLB TV can be found here. To watch it on portable devices via their app requires their separate Mobile Premium service which does not with the MLB package and can only be ordered direct from the website.

Health Edge, the package that you linked to is a minimal package that seems to be for legacy Blackberry and Palm users and does not include watching games on mobile devices.  The package that provides access to live games on IOS and Android devices is MLB At Bat.

Is there documentation of Cox's Extra Innings offer that includes MLB.tv?  I couldn't find it on Cox's website.

There are two MLB.tv options when buying directly.  MLB.tv Premium ($129.99) includes HD games, choice of home and away feeds, and includes the At Bat package.  MLB.tv does not have those features and is $109.99.  It would be interesting to know which of these packages is bundled with Extra Innings.  If it is the lesser one it would be interesting to know if you could subsequently upgrade to MLB.tv Premium on the MLB website.

ratinthekitchen,

Were you able to get set up at the website to register your Cox subscription?

ColleenD, I don't subscribe to the Extra Innings package, have been a long time MLB.tv subscriber.  I was just interested to understand what the offer is, i.e. whether it includes the basic MLB.tv package or the premium one.

ratinthekitchen,

Ahhh! Sorry. I misunderstood. MLB.TV Premium is now included with the subscription to MLB Extra Innings.

I hope this helps.

Same error code when I try the link and input my 16 digit cox account number:

"MLB.TV access is not available for Cox Communications subscribers until 48 hours
after purchase of the MLB Extra Innings package. If you have any questions about your Cox Communications subscription
please contact us at the phone number here or on your Cox bill statement."

You might want to try again. I just went to the link given above, entered my Cox account#, and it signed me up. However the question is how do we login in subsequently? It requires an e-mail/password. What do we use for that?

I ordered MLB Extra Innings on Monday and I'm still getting that same error message.  I've called Customer Support to fix the issue but they have no idea what I'm talking about.  This is getting ridiculous.

Hi Colleen,

I have a problem ticket open with Cox (CUI000002014363).  Is there any way you can help me?  I ordered MLB Extra Innings last Monday but I'm still getting the same error message about waiting 48 hours.  Cox Support has been unable to help me.  I'd really like to get the issue resolved.

Hi Spaddy22,

Have you registered the account with MLB.Tv already? We verified the authentication on our side is working. If you are still having a problem, please let me know.

Hi Stephanie

I just tried entering my Cox Account # again and I got the same message:

after purchase of the MLB Extra Innings package. If you have any questions about your Cox Communications subscription
please contact us at the phone number here or on your Cox bill statement.
You are only one step away. Enter your personal 16 digit Cox Account
number* located on the upper right corner of your cable bill
below to enable access to MLB.TV.
