Missing features in new "rovi" program.
I was just switched to a new channel guide / program identified as "rovi". Several of the features of the old program that I used daily seem to have suddenly gone missing, or perhaps I am simply not finding them.
1) Under the old system, I had set the numeric channel listing to show only my favorites. I didn't have to page through line after line of sports I don't watch, cartoons, old sitcoms, etc. That seems to be gone unless I select EVERY TIME to go through the extra steps to Sort | List Channels | Favorites. How do I get back the ability to set this as the default display?
2) Under the old system, when there were two shows I wanted to watch but both were on at the same time, I could with a single keystroke find ALL current and upcoming instances of either show by simply highlighting the show name and searching. Now it seems I have to manually enter the name of the show - a really tedious process for someone with arthritis in my fingers. Again, what happened to the old functionality, and how do I restore it?

Regarding 1:Under the Sort Channels list, I have Custom 1, Custom 2, etc. settings, which can be set to display favorites/hide skipped channels and a “use always” option which is supposed to make it default. I personally find it unreliable (the setting gets reset and ignored anyway when I do a search, which didn't happen before the upgrade). I found that they introduced a ton of bugs with this upgrade (my box got changed to this version about a year or two ago) which I STILL have to deal with on a daily basis.
Regarding 2: Does selecting a program in the TV listings and selecting “List upcoming shows” do what you mention?
