make it so a caller must press 1 to keep robocalls from getting through.

i have a son and also a sister who have phone services with cable providers that require a caller to press 1 to prove they are a real person. I would like to see Cox do this also. I get tired of answering robot calls.

Their providers offer this service or are they using a stand-alone call attendant?  A call attendant could be a feature within a specific make of a call blocker.

I wish that Cox offered a call attendant that made a person press a key so that we would stop getting robocall.

I paid for a similar feature years ago. The caller had to say their name (instead of Press 1) when prompted.   Many of the spammers (robocalls) would start their recording as soon as it sounded like someone had answered ( "This customer does not want unsolicited calls, )  and i would get a voicemail with the spam recording even tho they never said their name.   I canceled the service.

I guess that is true. I also get a little annoyed when I have to press 1 to talk with my son and my sister. But I am on all of the do not call lists and am just frustrated that we still get so many robocalls. at least 4-5 daily.  And many of these are received when I am in conversation with someone that I really do want to talk with and drop them to get the robocall.

DNC is basically worthless except for telemarketers that want to keep it legal. What would be REALLY nice is if Cox and other providers listened to the complaints and suggestions of their subscribers and did more than just give it lip service. It sounds like Nomorobo has the most logical solution, why can't the Cox 'whiz-kids' come up with something comparable, all it is is dealing with D-channel information, I would think.
