What market are you in? I'm in the Baton Rouge market, and I'm seeing similar results on Speedtest.net. Using Cox's speed test I get normal speeds to my local Cox network, but when I change market to say Atlanta, which is usually a fast connection for me, it tops out at about 2mbs.
I can't even work like this. I keep losing connection to my office.

I am also experiencing very slow speeds and am located in Lafayette, LA. Please fix if possible!

I have the 100 MBPS service in Destrehan, LA (outside of New Orleans). I'm having the exact problem - extremely slow connection clocked at 1.5 to 5 Mbps on SpeedTest.net, but Cox's speed test reports full speed.

Having the exact same problem as well in the New Orleans/Kenner market. Through speedtest.net, I'm showing 4.49Mbps down and 20.27Mbps up. When checked thru Cox's internet speed test, it went up to around 94Mbps down and 12Mbps up. Online steaming services like YouTube are choking. Not really what I'd expect for the "Premier" tier.

Glad to know I'm not alone!!! Spent an hour and a half on the phone with cox. Unable to resolve the issue. I SUSPECT that the cox speed test tells me how fast my connection to cox is. Not how fast my connection to the general internet is. I'm in New Orleans. Since others in this area are having issues, perhaps cox itself is having some sort of DNS or other relay problem for our areas
hoping it's cleared up tomorrow.

Same here in Lafayette, at the moment. Something is definitely pounding the network hard, perhaps a DDoS attack?
I have cox Ultimate and usually can pull ~20 megaBytes per second at this time, on a weeknight, from just about anywhere on the East coast.
Right now, I can't even pull 10 megaBITS per second downstream from anywhere on speedtest.net -- not even from the LUS server in town, but my uplink is pushing 20 Mbps..

Modem restart = No help.
Log check: No one attacking me at the moment...

There was a fiber cut yesterday afternoon that forced us to reroute network traffic for Cox Louisiana customers. The estimated time of repair was 9:30am (EST) this morning. Please run a few speed tests now so we can see if everything is back to normal.

Becky,
Thank you VERY much for responding. It's nice to have a resolution. However, it would have been wonderful
to hear this last night from my support tech instead of spending an hour and a half unplugging and re plugging everything in my home only to consider having a tech sent out.
Please tell me that there is a way to communicate this information more effectively. What happened last night was unacceptable. If he had told me what you just told
me, I would have said thank you and got on with my night. Instead I was sweaty, dirty, and frustrated.

That would only explain why internet speeds slowed to a crawl yesterday. I have been experiencing problems all week where I get 50 Mbps around noon and ~4 Mbps at night.

I looked at your connection and I see two things that could be improved. The first being that the modem is reporting slightly weak signal levels and some elevated noise problems. Also I'm seeing what looks to be a legacy router connected to the modem. Many routers that fall into that category aren't suitable for +50Mbps service which is now common. What make/model router are you using and can you try testing without it?

Still having issues that started yesterday. My speed check test on the Cox website shows perfect download speed, but the upload part of the test returns a upload test error. The speedtest on speedtest.net is atrocious with 3.68 Mbps download and the upload test will also not complete there.
Edit: Sometime around 4:00 my internet has returned to normal. Will update if that changes.

I'm in the New Orleans market and I'm having the same issue. Except on Cox's speed test It's still giving me about 32-33Mbps when I'm supposed to be at 100Mbps.

Everything looks good with the connection from this end as far as I can see. Are you testing over a wireless-G connection by chance? 33Mbps or so is the effective limit for that technology.
