Internet connection trouble shooting upstairs

I have a two story house and my upstairs internet connection ** when using my iPad. The internet works great downstairs but we live upstairs and I'm paying for Internet and I barely get a good connection do I need to upgrade my modem. Please email me Asa's thank you email jamiXXXXXXXX@gmail.com.

Hi Jami,

We need to take a closer look at your router, not your modem.  What is the brand and model number of your router? Have you reset the router defaults or tried changing router channels? Is the router single-band or dual-band, and is it capable of Gigabit speeds?
