Incorrect Information provided by Cox Telephone Rep

In today's conversation, I was told that if I switched to Direct TV with the free NFL package for a year, that at the end of the year, if I did not renew that I would be billed a $300.00 retroactive charge.

In checking with Centruy Link and Direct TV, I was told that this was a false statement, in fact, I can choose to discontinue after the first year with no penalties.

Hmm. I can't say what DirecTV told you over the phone, but going what they have in writing here, to get the Sunday Ticket free "ALL OFFERS REQUIRE 24-MONTH AGREEMENT" and only "this season" is included free. If you tried to terminate your DirecTV service after a year, you'd be charged $20 per remaining month, or $240. Sounds pretty close to what you were told.

On the other hand, Our Price Lock Guarantee is not required, and you can get the NFL Network in the Sports & Info Pak and NFL RedZone to supplement our existing sports coverage, without having to switch to satellite.
