In need of a more powerful cable signal Amp
I had an analog TV with a RCA Model TV/VCR Distribution AMP (25 db gain) and this system has worked since 2002 without problems, in my Motor Home garage which is about 100 feet from the main house. I now have a digital TV, Cox mini box along with the RCA Amp. I now need a more powerful AMP to solve my problem (Signal now Comes & Goes). Can someone suggest a good AMP? Thanks in advance.

Happy to help, I just have a bad feeling about the outcome. I think technicians only carry 25db and below amps for consumer user. The correct procedure would be to get another drop from the pole to the motor home, but they may consider that new service depending on the property. You can't just amp digital signal through the roof and hope for the best like you could with analog, it works fundamentally different and over amplification increase the noise in the signal as well as the signal.
If you do decide to go with a amp, check out Extreme Broadband. They make some of the best MoCA amps, but I couldn't find anything on their site over 25dB. Maybe try calling them and asking them?

I regret you are experiencing intermittent troubles since the addition of the Mini Box. Our Cox Field Technicians would be able to investigate the trouble, and if needed, install the appropriate Amp. This is a recommendation, but I understand you are looking to install the Amp yourself.

What are your requirements? How much dB do you need? How many ports? Price point? Finding
Also, too much amplification will cause problem with digital signal because it amps the noise as well as the signal. Sure it's not a SNR issue? Try hooking up a cable modem (if you have Cox internet) to the outlet in the motor home and see what your signal levels are via 192.168.100.1

You can purchase a modem just for the M.H. garage, however, that will require a subscription to an additional line of Internet service.

For the AMP, we’d recommend a Field Technician come out to test the signal strength, to determine if an AMP is actually needed. If it is, the Field Tech will install it. We wouldn’t suggest you install an AMP yourself.

No, you misunderstood what I said. You don't use the modem for TV but you can use the modem's diagnostics to take a signal reading out in the motor home. This will tell you what your signal is, and what you will need to do to amp it enough.
Overall I kind of doubt this will work well. If it's not working with 25dB gain, I doubt the SNR will hold for a stable picture. Good luck to what ever technician Cox sends.
