I upgraded my package to 100 Mbps which modem to I buy?

I've decided after 4 years I'm done calling cox to try to reset and fix signal on their end. I'm done being told your modem is just fine and up to date. I'm done losing signal constantly. Only to be told be the next agent when I call that my modem is out of date and someone should have told me this a while ago?! Ok so moving on! I want a lightning fast modem. We stream Netflix on 2 Tvs us and kids have 5 devices total. So far I found a ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - but not sure if there is anything better out there for this awesome price. Can anyone help???

thanks in advance

I don't understand your post. Are you asking if the SB6141 is a good modem? What are your criteria?

What internet plan do you have? How much are you looking to spend? How much did you pay for the SB6141? Do you already have a router?

@Pandamanda

The modem you have is an older DOCSIS 2.0 model which is not capable of or approved for 100Mbps speeds so upgrading would be necessary to get any sort of stability with your connection.  The SB6141 would meet the minimum requirements for Premier HSI.

The SB6141 is fine up to Premier (100Mbps) internet, it features 8 down and 4 up channels.  To future-proof your purchase a little, you may want to look at the SB6183 which has 16 down and 4 up or the SB6190 which has 32x8 channels.  Both of those will support up to Ultimate internet.  Your limiting statement of "this awesome price" may preclude the last two ... based on Newegg prices the latter 2 will cost at least double the 6141.

Don't forget, all these devices are a modem only, you will need a suitable router to go along.  You want a router with gigabit Ethernet ports, dual band and wireless ac if you have devices that will support it.  The Netgear Nighthawk series, like the R7000, are a good choice, as are routers from ASUS.  If you belong to Costco and can still find one, they had a Nighthawk R6700 for under $100, it's identical to the R7000 except missing a USB2 port, great deal IMHO.
