I am constantly getting disconnected from xbox live

I have no issues signing in to xbox live initially but at random intervals, sometimes looking for games/sometimes while playing in a game, i get disconnected from xbox live. After a short period of 30 seconds to a minute I am able to reconnect. I have tried port forwarding my xbox 360 and have done everything xbox support has asked me to do and i cannot figure out my issue. I have a feeling its some setting on my gateway but I don't have enough technical knowledge to be certain. I have a netgear ac1900/c6300bd
