Has anyone experienced problem with getting email using http://webmail.cox.net/ ?
When I login it times out or does not even go to webmail. I know I have lots of emails I need to delete but I can not get in. I am also noticing that it is taking a long time for email to come into my ipad/iphone. I have tested it by sending my self emails and it's taking over 15 minutes.

When you login to Webmail what happens after you enter your information? Do you get an error message or a blank page? Have you tried to use different browsers and were the results the same?

I have exactly the same problem. It has been happening now for several weeks. The email response time is ridiculously slow to the point it is almost unusable. This is not a browser problem. I have tried on Firefox and Chrome. Same result. This is not a computer problem. I have tried with a few dozen concurrent Firefox tabs open. Only the Cox email is clocking. With Chrome, I had no other tabs open, just the Cox email tab.
I used Wireshark to trace the TCP traffic when this is happening and there are failed TCP packets (retransmissions, duplicate ACKS) to the cox server 68.6.19.27.

Thanks for this information. After you sign-in to our website, are you seeing a slow response when going into webmail? Is there a white screen before the emails load?

Yes, to the first question. It is painfully slow. And yes to the second question, sure the inbox screen is white until it sloooooooooowly populates the email list.

Are you still experiencing any slowness when accessing our webmail? If so, please share the link to the cox website you're utilizing. Thank you.

and yes, nothing's changed it is still abysmally slow. I do believe I gave you plenty of evidence re: packet retransmissions, duplicate ACKs from my troubleshooting. I guess that is maybe too technical for you to comment on?

same result with https://webmail.east.cox.net
and to repeat myself; I get the same slowness on different computers using these email URLs and do NOT get slowness with other web sites. And let's be clear "slowness" translated into technical terms means retransmissions, duplicate ACKs, etc. Just install Wireshark and do some debugging for yourself. Seems COX doesn't want to discuss that.

To repeat myself, I asked if you tried webtop.east.cox.net NOT webmail.east.cox.net. Webtop is the site for Enhanced Webmail which uses flash instead of HTML/Java of Classic Webmail. I find Enhanced Webmail can handle the processing of email headers involved when you have a lot of folders.
I didn't see you specifically ask for a moderator input. This is a general forum, so by default you are asking other user's input. Moderators only respond if you ask them to, or if they have input they feel is helpful.
PS. No offense, but if you know enough to debug with wireshark, why are you using cox.net email? Not exactly the coolest domain around. I personally use Gmail and Inbox and incorporate the few Cox.net addresses I have (mostly for junk mail) as accounts into the Gmail web UI and then use rules to transfer them into specific folders. That way all your email is in one place, you can use IMAP vs HTTP and you have some gmail addresses as your main which isn't attached to your ISP.

I did try webtop and it actually appears faster. So I'm giving up on webmail.cox.net as a lost cause. Thanks
