How do I get Cox to look for u-verse feedback on my node?

Since early November I have had erratic connection, full speed then nothing, then full speed.

First tech was clueless contractor who arrived late and wanted to rewire house.

Second obliged me by opening box on side of house, I then connected directly to there and had continued problems. Next tech tested splitter there and changed it which improved signal there but problems did not cease.

Sent my 6 month old modem back to manufacturer for testing ( my expense thanks Cox) and rented one from Cox ($8/month thanks Cox). Problems persist.

Configuration is: Cisco modem>Netgear AC1900 (new)

Problem persists with direct connection to drop from pole, with and without router and two different modems.

In viewing available wireless networks, I am surrounded by 2Wire and ATT modems, meaning Cox is bleeding customers in my vicinity.

This post leads me to think that I need a Cox employee on maintenance call, but phone support, even level two, will not send.

Should I give up and switch to U-verse? I do not like their TV system

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope.

and what pray tell should I do to convince him that the signal may be working now, but will drop for 15 minutes later today?

I would suggest recording the signal problems before and during the problem. You should find them on 192.168.100.1. Screenshots would be best, but even a photo with your phone would give the technician something. To be honest though, any technician worth his salt can, and should, be checking signal history for interment problems. So another thing I would suggest is ask for a Cox employee and not a contractor.

Hi Eyeing,

I don't think you have to jump through hoops to convince us there is a problem. Based on the signal levels your modem is currently reporting and the increase in time-out errors, there is definitely an issue here! We need to get another tech out so we can take a closer look and get this resolved for you.

I'm happy to schedule a service call for you, if you'd like, or you can call our 24/7 Technical Support team at 504-304-8444. Our appointment time slots are 8-10AM, 10-12PM, 1-3PM, 3-5PM, and 5-7PM, daily. Is there a time of day and day of the week that would work best for you?

If you'd like me to set up an appointment for you, please email your name and address to cox.help@cox.com. Please also include the link to this Forums thread and a couple of days/times that might work for you. We'll get to the bottom of this for you!
