I will try to keep this simple.
since having homelife installed my main router loses connection until reset 1 to 3 times per day. In the past 15 years i have had amazing service.
my setup Asus rt-ac87 main wifi with smaller wifi piggy back off that for guests. Off the main Asus router is the new homelife equipment, router and box to record 24/7.
when the connection dies, the center homelife light goes yellow and any connections to the main wifi router are killed. But... The wired connections including my pc snd the extra wifi router pass through and continue to function!!
sounds crazy but takes a reboot to resume security functions and wifi capability of the main router once again. Never resets and happens without fail at LEAST once per day. Today was down from 10 am until i came home and reset it at 1:30 ish.
cant really watch my home from work reliably with this happening. My connection snd speeds are great, in fact the main trunk is in my driveway to the entire block.
Any help would be appreciated! I cant be the only one.

Do you still have problems if you remove your guest router?

I'd say it's definitely worth a try. With all of the different routers attached there's potential for mis-configured IP addressing if that problem isn't carefully managed.

Could you clairify this? What is "smaller wifi"? A repeater? A AP? Also, what kind of modem do you have?
Also, usually they set it up as modem > Homelife router > customer router. Did someone set up port forwarding on the Asus router?
Also, whats in the logs for the Asus when the Homelife looses connection?

It was my previous wifi router Asus RT-N56U dual band router and I don't remember how I set it up at the time but it has been working that way for maybe 2 and a half years ish?
I just left it attached since my kids, father, guests all had that programmed in and used the new one for me and the wife basically. I picked up the new cable modem same time as the new router and it's a newer docsis 3.0 Surfboard 6141
The setup guys didn't change anything with my system just plugged in their router and the other equipment is plugged into their small router from there. They basically booted it up, added the hardware items for the security setup and it all worked.
The only real problem is it eventually will go CPE offline and stay that way until I restart the main Asus router, but everything else is still functioning, the second small wifi and wired connections work just the security system and wifi part are down.
Even the 24/7 video device will eventually catch up and I do NOT lose any video from the time it was down it just takes awhile to catch up once I reboot the router so it must store locally on the box and be still working.
Disconnecting the smaller wifi didn't stop it from dying today though. One reboot at 8am but I am at work now so if it goes out again I can't reset right now.

Hmm I was thinking it was modem - home router - homelife router off that but I will take some pictures and look again
Doesn't seem like that would work though because their router has a yellow light for connection when it goes down but my router (wired only) and additional wifi still work which wouldn't make sense if theirs was totally offline?
Thanks for the ideas guys.

Need to know more about how each device is connected to each other and how the devices are configured. I understand you not being able to remember, but that is something that needs to be known before troubleshooting. Which devices have NAT? Which devices are doing DHCP? Router logs? Can you check and post? I don't know any way to help without knowing the data.

Do you happen to know what IP subnets each of these routers are using and are they all issuing IP addresses using their DHCP servers?

Are you saying that more than one device is using the 192.168.1.x space? If so that is likely a significant contributor to the problems you're seeing. Ideally I'd remove the guest router and set the primary router up to allow for guest access if it has a feature to do so. Having two routers within such close proximity to each other will also cause other problems, particularly for wireless connectivity.

Another problem however is what the 3rd device is using. If there is overlap anywhere you're run into intermittent problems depending on what addresses each device decides to hand out at any given time.
