First way I can help is suggesting not to use the Home Network Manager. Its junk. What are you trying to do? Maybe I can help with that. Also what kind of router do you have?

I was hoping to be able to track anything coming into my Network and possibly GB's per day use from each.

What kind of things were you looking to track? Like a firewall security log? Try this

1. Open a browser window.

2. Type in the IP address for the modem 192.168.0.1.

3. Type in the default Username; admin.

4. Type in the default Password; motorola.

5. Click on "Status" menu and click "Event Logs". Is that what your looking for?

As for how many GB, the router itself has no such feature, but you can track it via Cox's bandwidth meter. See here.

What kind of stuff? BitMeter 2 is a good freebie, but it needs to be installed on each PC you want to monitor, and use bmsync to network the programs to your PC to monitor remotely. See here for more details.

I might be able to think of some other methods or programs, but thats where I would start. 

Tablets..ouch. Forgot about that. Then yea, might be better off with a separate router and modem so you can install some 3rd party firmware. DD-WRT offers some potent options.

Also, is it more important to track or limit the bandwidth? If tracking is more of a concern, you might be able to do it with using a alternate DNS like DYN to track the requests.

If you get a router that supports open firmware, like a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND, you can install Gargoyle firmware on it which gives you detailed bandwidth usage. Search up Gargoyle router firmware and you can review more on their website. This would definitely meet your needs, I was just looking at mine and it would be just the ticket for you.
