High Speed Internet Subscriber - Getting Free Local TV Channels from the Coax Cable
Just wondering if it's normal that I free local channels from the Cox coax cable that supplies the internet. I'm only paying $52.99 for the medium internet service. In my closet, there are a bunch of coax cables and I discovered that one of them gives the local channels in hi-def. They appear the same was as if I using an antenna, like 3.1 NBC, 5.1 FOX, 8.1 CBS, 10.1 PBS 13.1 ABC and more. I found them by accident trying to set up a TV antenna using my houses coax cables that all lead to my closet, where the cable modem is. So, just wondering if this normal?

For now yes it is common. If you only subscribe to Internet, Cox should have placed a filter on the line, but they don't always do that. It is technically stealing a service you are not entitled to to access the TV channels.
When Cox goes to all Digital later this year, you will loose all those channels. Because Cox will be encrypting them.

Thanks for reply. I don't want to be stealing from Cox, so I'll go back to using my antenna for those same channels.
