HD broadcast

Is cox communication broadcasting in 720 or 1080? If 1080, do I need a special cable box.

HD Feeds are whatever the content provider is distributing.  Most are 1080i and some are 720p, none are 1080p.

Most of the ABC/Disney owned networks are 720p

Fox owned networks are also 720p

All you need is an HDTV and an HD Cable box or DVR, or TiVo w/ CableCARD, using an HDMI cable or Composite Component video cables.

Good answer! One minor correction, "component" video cables, not "composite,"  but you're best off with HDMI anyway. Other than that, spot-on.

I don't know of any live TV channel that broadcasts in 1080p. If it ever happens, I believe the Contour receivers have the capability waiting to be enabled, but that's just hypothetical at this point.
