Has anybody used Cox Home Security?
Looking at utilizing Cox Home Security and wondered if anyone has implemented their new system?

Cox does a lot…but none of it well. They’ve morphed into the Dollar Store of service providers. I’d leave Home Security to the experienced companies.
However, if you hire or switch monitoring companies, check if your area requires a permit…and be aware of the following contract clauses (scams):
- Early-Termination Charges: You could be liable for up to 80 percent of the cost of the contract's term, even if you move.
- Exclusions: Some contracts warn that any promises made by sales staff or in ads are not binding if they're not in the contract.
- Limited Liability: If you suffer a break-in, even due to the alarm company's negligence or failure of the equipment or service, the company isn't responsible and won't reimburse beyond a specific amount, $300 to $1,000 on the contracts. You might also forfeit the right to sue the company for additional money.
Buyer beware; review the contract!

Just get an alarm company sign from ebay and put it in your yard.

Sounds like someone is jealous because they don't or can't have the new home security from Cox. i have it and it is GREAT!! I have had no issues the tech who installed it were awesome and i am saving $20+ over my previous system that did not have the features of this system without paying a premium through a higher monthly bill.
- Early-Termination Charges: all alarm companys have them thats why there is a contract however unlike my other alarm company (which will remain nameless) who charge you the monthly service fee (whatever yours is) X the remainder of the contract i.e. cancel after 1 yr on a 3yr contract = 54.99x24months=1319.76 (**) COX charges a flat $12.50 per month on their monthly contract buyout (not the monthly service amount)so with that same equation COX 12.50x24months=$300 (big difference)
- Exclusions: My sales person was a Cox employee not a contractor or a sub distributor tyring to make quota and the only promise she made was she will be there for me even after the install and gave me her personal cell. first time a sales person did that for me.
Limited Liability: i looked over my contract from the 2 other alarm companies i had over the past 10 years and no one made a claim they would reimburse me i will look hard at this contract and update my post as soon as i know. but isn't that why we have homeowners insurance?
Thank you Bruce for making me look at these things and seeing that Cox really put out something better then all the rest!
THANKS COX!!
