Flash leaving chrome
Since a lot of Cox.net works with flash, including enhanced webmail, thought I would post this as a warning that those systems will no longer work with Chrome by end 2016.

The article doesn't say flash sites won't work after the end of year. It says "The technology will only be enabled by default on 10 sites, including YouTube and Facebook. On all others, users will have to choose to activate it." I read that as each Cox customer will have to activate Flash when first coming to a Cox site (after 12/31) that uses it, after that Chrome will remember their decision. Not having Flash activated by default on a site is a good thing, may help prevent the spread of malware... at least to some extent.

You are right. Can't change OP to reflect though. What I should have said is it will no longer work by default. I posted to inform people like us that help troubleshoot because it might cause some thread volume. However, it is very important to make the distinction you made. I wonder if this is just the first step in removing support all together though, kind of how they slowly weened users off Java.
There is also the option of IE Tab which loads the page with the Internet Explorer browser engine. Not sure what kind of conflicts this might cause with more users upgrading to 10 before the deadline and how the ad-on works with Edge.
"may help prevent the spread of malware"
Mehh, a little, but most of the common malware spreads through the 10 sites they are leaving it on by default. That's why I think it's only a first step. Adding a integrated ad/script blocker would do more for security with less concern to the user IMO. Chrome is/will be my main browser, but it's always good to have others installed for better flexibility.

Hey, Cox tech' support! When will Cox's #%*@ Flash dependencies terminate?
