Early Termination Fee

I recently canceled my services with Cox because I am moving to an area that Cox does not provide services. I am angry because when I signed up for Cox, I knew that there was going to be a good chance that I would be moving and didn't want to get slapped with huge cancellation fees. I was assured multiple times when I signed up that if I moved to a location that Cox could not provide services that it released me and no fee's would acquire. I feel that I was blatantly lied to in order to make a sale. I would NEVER have signed a two year contract knowing that I could potentially leave. I was told that there was nothing that could be done since I am not military but what am I supposed to do. If you cannot provide services to where I am moving, I do not feel that this is fair. I also do not feel that it fair to lie to customers. I did some researching and also see that has happened to many other people signing up for services. They are told that if they move out of a cox service area that there would be no early termination fee's only to find out that this is not the case and charged a lot of money. I will never use cox again or recommend it to anyone because of the deceit that I feel that was used to make a sale.
