DVR not recording, On Demand working intermittently

I attempted to access my DVR list and On Demand today, and neither is working correctly. My DVR list allows me to browse shows I had set to record, but it hasn't recorded anything new in about two weeks. It also shows the DVR as being 100% empty, and will not play any shows I had previously recorded. The last recording my DVR made was on Oct 21st, however I have series set to record previously and after that date which have not recorded. I then attempted to access the shows via On Demand, but got errors saying Cox could not deliver the content right now and to try again later. I did, it was still broken. A third time had On Demand work for me, however I don't have time to watch what I wanted now, nor will I for at least a week. The DVR errors continue and there is no error actually passed just a failure to launch any recording, or record any programs. I have done the old reset the box with a power cycle and unplugging the cord, so there is no further troubleshooting I can do on my end.

Are you saying it fails to record ALL recordings (including individually scheduled programs), or just series recordings? What model DVR is it, and what IPG/firmware are you using? Passport? Contour?

It will not record anything, it will not play anything, it says the hard drive is empty. The system is a Cisco box with Cisco firmware and the menus have Contour branding.

I am having the same problem. One of our DVRs records, but the main one does not. I did the power cycle and this time it showed us as ER:55 and then started counting on the box front and making weird noises. I unplugged for a while but this is one of the MANY times I've had to reset and it will record a show or two and then a day later go out again.

Go to the channel grid. Highlight "Supergirl" Saturday 10/31 at 8pm. Press "Select." Select "Record." Select "Record This Program." Select "Until I Delete." Press "B"

Now go back to the channel grid. Does "Supergirl" have a red circle with a check-mark? Does it show up in "Scheduled Recordings"?

[BTW, the Cisco DVR has a model number on the front panel.]

Didn't do it with Supergirl but I did it with another show. The guide says it will record (red circle-check), the red record light comes on, but the show either does not register in the list, or will not play. Either way the HDD shows as empty.

When you programmed the show, and the red circle/check appeared in the grid, did the program show up in the "Scheduled Recordings" window? [DVR LIST -> Scheduled Recordings]  (This is BEFORE it is due to be recorded.)
