Doorbell Commercial
Obviously, Cox executives do not have dogs or they never would have approved a commercial that has someone ringing the doorbell not just once, but 3 separate times in 30 seconds. Seriously, Cox? Did Cox do this on purpose to aggravate their customers with dogs? It took me all of 30 seconds to realize that substituting a buzzer (or some other non-standard doorbell sound) would stop most dogs from barking.
I know you probably spent a lot of money on the commercial, but it's hard to fathom that nobody there had the foresight to realize that dogs will bark EVERY time it comes on. Please stop running it. I would suggest that you ask for your money back from whatever marketing company made it for you, or ask them to make you another commercial - perhaps they will give you a discount.
Here's some free market research - it is having the opposite effect that you're looking for; if I was going to order your product, I wouldn't just because of this commercial. Every time I have to tell my dog to stop barking, I am not paying attention to the commercial. And if I let him just bark, then I can't hear your commercial anyway. Yes, I can mute it, but A) the dog is already barking and B) if I mute it, I'm not listening to it, so it's not very effective in getting me to buy your product.

This is a post about someone complaining about a commercial because it disturbed their dog. Wow, just wow.

VACust hit the nail on the head. Cox Marketing is only getting worse and worse when it comes to creating commercials with LOUD and generic doorbell noises. There are so many commercials with doorbells. Just google or youtube "Cox Twitch", "Nerd Party", "Delivery Guy", or that one where the AT&T U Verse employee mumbles his words.
I thought I was going crazy with thinking Cox Marketing is using these loud doorbell noises to drive dog owners crazy, but Cox's latest commericial just confirmed I am not
Seriously?!?!?! Three doorbell rings in one commercial is utterly inconsiderate. Domino, did you respond to VACust on purpose to aggravate him and anyone else with shared feelings?
This is the perfect place to complain about a marketing decision lacking common sense, and if you don't like it or understand it then quit reading and get out.

I found his complaint humorous. And later when he claimed that the dog was just doing what it was supposed to do...REALLY? I've always trained my dogs NOT to bark at the doorbell. Please provide the logic of having a dog bark at a doorbell.
No, this is the place to ask TECHNICAL questions about receiving Cox television. I don't think complaining about commercials qualifies.
