Digital Mini Box
I just heard about this "digital mini box" that's coming. I have three TV's in the house, one is connected with the box, the other two are connected via cable for just basic programming. All of them are flat screen, digital type TV's. Do I need this 'mini box' on the two with just basic? I know I don't need anything if I connect them via an antenna. Please advise...

Yes, if you want to keep them connected to cable. As has been said many times before, all channels will be encrypted so you need some form of STB or cable card to get anything. Of course, you can always connect them to an antenna.

First, I wanted to post a link to another thread that posted a schedule of when the mini box will be rolled out and required in different markets. Probably not set in stone, but atleast we have a guide line now.
Second, is anyone having problems not getting some channels with the mini box that they did get with a full size cable box? If so, what channels and what state?
Last, is Cox required to give 2 free mini boxes for a year? Or does that differ market to market?

Thanks for encouraging folks to reach out for support with channels using the mini box!
Eligibility for up to 2 free mini boxes for up to two years is based on a customer's current level of service at the "Go All Digital" launch in his or her specific market. Does that help?

Interesting, thanks for the link. As Brian said in his post, not sure why each market has 2 sets of dates. Any comment from Cox mods?
I'm in CT, we get all the Essential channels and the music channels (9xx level). As expected, we don't get any Advanced channels, I subscribe to the sports pak & need my DVR to receive any of those channels or bonus pak channels.
Depends on your level of service, here is a link to the FCC regs on digital encryption: https://www.fcc.gov/guides/cable-system-encryption 2 boxes are only available with basic service. If you pay Cox much more for Advanced service you only get one.
