Cox Ripping People off!

What does Cox charge to move internet service from one house to another? My wife and I moved at the beginning of October and instead of transferring the service, Cox started a new account. I would log on and see the old bill and so I was very confused.

The internet service was very bad and so I let Cox know and they insisted that it was my equipment. Yes, my equipment that worked perfectly fine a day ago at my other address. After three long calls I was finally able to convince them to send someone to look at it. Sure enough, it was them and not me. They fixed the bad install job and then went on there way. I received my bill and was shocked to see an extra $50 on the bill. I was not told about this and I figured Cox would fix their bad install without charging me.

My new bill was now $137 and I was not able to pay that amount. Cox disconnected my service and I was not able to do my schoolwork online. I had to borrow enough money to pay for it. Is it just me or does Cox like ripping people off? I am starting to feel taken advantage of. Cox then added a late payment fee of $8 and a reconnection fee of $20. What a bunch of scumbags! Aside from not being able to simply transfer the service over without messing up, Cox has the slowest customer service people. I want to record a conversation and post exactly what I am talking about.

Did you go to the "Move My Services" section of the "My Connection" area of your local website before you moved?
