Cox Mini Boxes completely unreliable
Why do these mini boxes have to be reauthorized so frequently? Every time this happens, the TV is rendered useless for 5-10 minutes. Frustrating given all the most interesting news is reported in the first 5-10 minutes. Also, why are the mini boxes not fully compatible with the economy package? The most affordable box should receive all the channels in the the most affordable package.

I haven't had to reauthorize but I do loose the guide about once a week. Only way to get it back is to power cycle the minibox. The guide has been out for 3 or 4 days now since I haven't bothered to do the power cycle ... when I did it this AM, the guide came back. Another PITA with these cheap boxes. BTW, I don't want to schedule a tech visit ... my main Contour DVR is working fine and my internet speeds are what I pay for ... don't want to mess up the important stuff which is working great

if i may...
which mini box do you have? an "evolution" brand or the cisco?
i just changed mine out for the cisco today & am pretty much convinced the evolutions (which is their first choice in my area) is junk. fisher price could have done better!
i had ratio aspect problems (the pic didn't fit my screen) AND now i find that i wasn't getting hd quality picture!
been paying for it for 2 months.

I have the Evolution minibox. I do get a 1080i picture out of it, subjectively not as good as I was getting directly off the cable via ClearQAM but it is HD. Both my boxes are connected to 16x9 TVs so I haven't experienced the aspect ratio issue. My two big issues are (1) the remote is worse than junk, I need 2 remotes on my night table ... one to change channels and another for the tv's sleep timer and (2) it looses the guide once a week or so.
