It is unlikely that COX will become a part of the Open Connect network because Netflix competes with COX on-demand offerings; and even if COX does end join; on the "Ultimate" tier of bandwidth you will likely exceed your bandwidth cap, which you can read more about here (http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5/t/861.aspx).
To expand upon my previous post, 3D netflix streaming is at 5.4GB/hour or 74.074(repeating) total hours per month or barely a movie a day.
SHD is estimated at 3.15GB/hour or about 127 total hours per month.
And again, both of these numbers assume you do nothing else, no youtube, no email, no streaming audio, nothing.
So, there are unofficially imposed limits on how much netflix you can watch but no limits on how much cable TV or Video On Demand you watch... as long as it's through COX and not a third party over the network you are paying for.
Yes, I know that today these limits are not actually being enforced but they could be without any notice at all.
Hope this helps,
Michael

If that was the case then almost no ISPs would ever carry Netflix SuperHD because in the USA most ISPs are also television providers with on-demand offerings.

Check your provider here...

But for now Cox is "not configure" for Super HD.

Cox has had access to Netflix's Open Connect CDN (and therefore the Super HD and 3D video encodes) for over a week. I first noticed it on the 17th, after reading people in a forum saying that Cox Phoenix and Cox Orange County had it so I checked and Cox San Diego was connected as well. I'd imagine it must be nationwide.

Hardwareguy,
https://myaccount.cox.net/internettools/datausage/usage.cox?campcode=resaccount_internettab_data-usage-meter is the cox provided usage meter that shows your allotment for the month.
Also it would be illegal for COX to block netflix, because we have laws regarding anti-competitive practices like that; unfortunately that doesn't mean COX can't impose limits to make the competition an impractical solution when used with them. This is a poor practice in that it ultimately encourages users to switch to another provider when the opportunity presents itself; hence Verizon FioS being successful when moving into territories typically ruled by cable companies.
Mikeyts, I'm glad to be proven wrong and to see that cox is working with Netflix to allow for this service to function on their network. Now if only they would not count this bandwidth usage toward our monthly allotment; or at least create a reasonable allotment that reflects the service provided.

I have the 25/2 "Premiere" service, which gets me 300 GB of bandwidth per month (down/up combined; I think that the 50/5 "Ultimate" service get 400 GB). I rent a room in this home, shared with another single guy whose Internet use is pretty light, mostly just e-mail, some streaming video on his iPad and multiplayer sports video games. I do a significant amount of downloading and a lot of streaming, but we still rarely exceed half of the allotment, so I'm happy. If I was married with kids and a wife it would probably be tighter, but I probably wouldn't have time for the diversions that I use the network to provide so my personal use would no doubt be lighter.
I just ordered a DOCSIS 3.0 modem; our current one is a DOCSIS 2.0 one belonging to my housemate. Hopefully this will more consistently get us the 25 Mbps we're paying $67 a month for.
