Contour - HD Auto-Tune

One of the features I miss of DTV is the auto-tune of HD channels.  In other words, if I tune to channel 20 for CNN, the STB will automatically tune to the HD version on channel 1020.  DTV will do this for every cable and local channel where there is an HD simulcast of the SD channel.

I find my kids are always turning on the SD version because it is easier for them to remember 28 for Disney than 1028.  I then notice that they are watching stretch-o-vision and go fix it for them.

I find my parents often do the same at their house.  I will go visit to find that they are watching Wheel of Fortune in the SD version.  They simply punch in channel 8 instead of channel 1008 because that is what they have always done.

I know that Contour added the feature to hit A to watch the HD version of the channel; but no one in our family ever notices that or uses that feature.  Why not have an option in the settings for the box to automatically tune to the HD channel, even when using the SD channel number?  DTV has done this for years... This sounds like an easy addition that would benefit most everyone.  It would also eliminate the complaints from people wondering why their brand new flat screen looks so poor.
