choppy feed with live sporting events on FOX

I have noticed this summer that all the live events broadcast on FOX (HD 1006/ SD 6 in Baton Rouge) to my home are choppy. When local or national commercials play - no issues with the feed. When regular programming on, no issues. No problems with any other channels (including Fox Sports 1).  All TVs have Mortorola DCH3416 boxes. The signal is already boosted when it comes into my home. Any ideas?

Hi Sspiff70,

Does the choppiness/tiling occur on FOX on all 3 TVs? Live sporting events broadcast in HD are not compressed as much before being sent to you and are therefore sensitive to signal issues at the home. We do see more tiling on live events that pre-recorded events and TV shows, but it is interesting that it only happens on FOX. The fact that there were signal issues in the past that prompted the installation of an amplifier leads me to think this warrants a closer look. If this is happening on all 3 TVs, I suggest we schedule a service call.

Yes. It does occur on all 3 TVs that have DVRs and on my one TV with just coax running to it.  I added the amplifier over 3 years ago. Why would it start being an issue in the last few months?  I haven't asked my neighbors if they have the same experience. But I know it has not been a problem in other parts of the city.  Thanks for any input. I will try to figure out when I can arrange a service call.

It is not just him. It is happening to a lot of people that I have spoken with in Baton Rouge. It has something to do with the feed on your end or Fox's end, not the customers. It's lagging so bad it almost makes me dizzy to watch. It's like watching something streamed through a really bad internet connection. I have only noticed it during live events as well(football, soccer, and golf). I hope you figure this out before football season.....

Hey sabinra,

Is this happening on TV's with or without a box? Is it mainly on sporting events or have you noticed it on others type of shows.

For me, it has been only with live sporting events (U.S. Open, Women's World Cup, Preseason NFL).

Sabrina If there have been any upgrades in your area, which is very possible, you may not need that amplifier anymore, just a thought.  Please reach out as soon as you're ready so we can get a field tech out to see what's happening. We do have appointments on Sundays, maybe getting a tech out during live football games so the  tech can try and figure out what may be going on.
