I have been having trouble with one specific channel (1004 WGFLDT in Gainesville) for the past 2-3 weeks. It's possible the problem is happening on other channels--I'm only watching a few these days--but this is the only one I've noticed a problem on.
The picture and sound basically freeze for a few seconds, then everything restarts. This happens, on average, about every 5 minutes. I'd really like to get it fixed before the main TV season starts. I asked Cox Live Chat for help. The agent sent a signal, but we couldn't tell if it worked quickly enough to stay on the chat. Later I realized the problem was still around.
I have a TiVo with CableCARD, so I'm a little concerned any technician will just blame the TiVo. I tried restarting the TiVo, but that didn't help. I also looked at the TiVo diagnostics, and they show strong signals for this particular channel.

TiVos are a challenge to troubleshoot, especially in systems that don't have Tuning Adapters deployed yet.
I'm not sure how much data you get on the TiVo diagnostic screen, but without our 2-way diagnostics, even if it looks like the signal is good, looks can be deceptive. Sometimes the signal can look strong in terms of Tx/Rx/SNR but can still have signal errors. We'd be able to see a statistic of "uncorrectable frames" on a cable box, and we'd also be able to send test pings to check the signal path.
Basically, we'd recommend double-checking all the cable connections and simplifying the connection path as much as possible (bypass splitters if at all possible), but if that doesn't help then a service call would be the next step.
