Can't get SG6141 to work with E3000 router (Tomato firmware)
Hi,
I switched out the modem that Cox gave me with the SB6141. I was able to register the new modem by plugging my laptop directly to it on the ethernet port and browsing out. it registered and I was able to browse out. However, when I tied to connect the SB6141 to the E3000 router (wan port - Tomato firmware), it wouldn't work. The router couldn't get an IP address. It has no issues with the Cox modem. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help!

You probably just have to reboot the modem. Each time you plug a different device into the modem, it needs to reboot to go through the DHCP process to register the new MAC address. So if your online with the laptop, and then disconeect the ethernet from the laptop and connect to the router, you have to power down and power up the modem. If that still doesn't work I would need to know what your old modem was and how your router is configured (DHCP?)
