Can I use Cox SMTP to send mail without showing my Cox email address to recipients?
Basically I have my own domain (registered with GoDaddy, hosted with a small hosting company, and the domain's email service currently provided by Google Apps).
I want to run a mail-merge with Word and Outlook to send emails to folks I'm running a contest for, but Google doesn't like me sending so many emails so quickly.
I was wondering if I can use my ISP (Cox) SMTP to send the emails, without revealing my cox email address (they would only see admin@mydomainname.com). Is that possible?

I figured. I've been trying to determine if it's possible for me to install web server software on my PC and PHP and just write a script and do it from home. I'm pretty naive there though, I don't know if PHP's mail function just sends mail packets out into the web or if you have to give it an SMTP server.

smtp.cox.net is an open relay from the cox network but will block you if you are spamming. I currently have some emails that come from my router that bounce off of that with no issues. Those are only 1 or 2 emails a week though and not excessive or "spammy".
