Browser popup says I need to upgrade to a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem
Hello,
I currently have a 6120 Cable Modem but I am getting a browser popup from Cox saying I need to upgrade to a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. I thought that a 6120 was a DOCSIS 3.0 compatible modem. I currently have the premier package so I believe the modem I have should be good up to 150mbps. I wasn't sure if this popup was received by everyone or if I have some issue with my modem.

I received a similar popup and have a DOCSIS 3.0 SB6121 modem.
Not sure what the deal is (marketing ploy aimed at the less tech savvy??)

For speeds above 100Mbps its suggested you have at least a 8x4 channel DOCSIS 3.0 modem like the DPC3010 or the SB6141. See here for a break down of all the modems and which they suggest for each tier. If your getting the speeds, ignore the message, but if your not, probably a good idea to upgrade your modem.
Also, you need to make sure your using all Cat5e or above ethernet, and your router and computer have to have 10/100/1000 ports.
