I'm considering switching from Directv back to Cox. Both DTV and Dish have more powerful DVRs available. If I were to make the switch, when the new boxes come out, would I be guaranteed the option to make the switch to the new one ?
Secondly, my main reason for switching is because I enjoy Pac 12 football. I noted there were problems last year, and some games were not coming through in HD. Will all Pac12 games be available this year in HD ? Also, am I correct in understanding only the local regional network is broadcast on the cable, and the others are available on our ancillary devices ( ie. iPad ) ? Is there any plan to offer the full network ?
Finally, only 2 tvs need to be on boxes for most viewing. I have 3 other flat screen ( relatively new ) TVs and would want to use them straight from the cable ( no box ). If my package includes Starter, Essentials, and Advanced TV, what can I access from the TV tuner without a box ?
Thanks. If you respond, I can make a decision.

1. Unknown. You might have to sweet-talk a local CSR.
2. Dunno.
3. Depends where you are located. You can determine this by going to Cox.com, and configure for your city. CAVEAT: This is a very fluid situation. Please read all of the fine print under the channel listings.

Hi GrampaTim,
We do appreciate you considering the switch back to Cox Communications! We would like to make things as easy as possible to accommodate your needs.
To address your first inquiry, once the new receivers become available, the option to subscribe to that service would be an upgrade to any account. As the boxes are not yet available, at this time we are unable to provide any pricing information or guarantee the availability in your area.
We will try to ensure this option is available to all customers however; at initial launch there never an outright guarantee.
To address your second inquiry, while Pac 12 is not available in all of Cox systems; according to our records it is available in HD with a subscription to our Plus Package in your area.
Thirdly, provided below is a link to the channel line- up in your area. Without a cable box you cannot access the Advance TV line up you mentioned in your post. You will however have access to both the Starter and Essential TV packages with only a cable connected directly from the wall to the set.
Please keep in mind when viewing the line-up below that the channels listed which have an asterisk beside them require a cable box subscription to view.

We hope this information is helpful to you! Please let us know if you would like to have us contact you to set up new services.
