AZ-outage on July 5
Scottsdale, AZ - phone and Internet down 11:30am to 7:30pm on July 5 (modem continuously rebooting after failed connection attempt). Called COX, who tried usual cycling of all components - no luck. Scheduled tech visit for today. Net came back up around 7:30 pm. Called COX today, tech said there were outages starting in Scottsdale at 11:21am yesterday. (Canceled tech visit.) Tech I talked to yesterday at 5:00 pm had no clue about outage.
How can I confirm the system-wide outage? Why was it out 8 hours? Did I make a mistake switching my land-line phone to COX?

San Diego CA outage - 5 days of continuous on and off for 5 to 30 minutes at a time. Religiously off around 10:45 PM until 11:00PM.
would agree that switching to COX for phone service was a mistake. AT&T is more expensive but it is ALWAYS on.

If a technician was able to be scheduled that would indiate that there wasn't an outage associated with your account. Should you continue to experience problems I would suggest troubleshooting further and possibly scheduling another technician if necessary.
