I have been experiencing high ping lately and I can not figure out why. Over the past month or so my ping has drastically dropped, it was at a high of 40-50, but now it is stuck at anywhere between 80-120 with constant spikes to anywhere between 300=400, and sometimes even reaching into the thousands. This has made it impossible to game and it has made using any other thing on the internet slow. I recently had a technician come to my house to see what the problem is, and he said the issue was just a bad connection. But whenever I use an Ethernet cable and plug my laptop into the modem, I end up with the same issues of around 100 ping with massive spikes. While checking my ping on speedtest.com it says that my ping is fine around 55, but when I go to fast.com my ping is at 110-120. I was wondering if there was anything anyone can do to help out or try and tell me what to do to fix the problem.
Can you post your signal levels? Also, can you post a tracert to google.com? My guess is ingress, which is common but very hard to track down. Only a supervisor, or someone with a meter, can climb the pole and scan for the problem.

Theres not much connected to it, 3 laptops but only 1-2 are used at a time, 4 phones, and 1 TV. But that's all on wireless so I can disable everything and see if that fixes anything
If it's not congestion, then there could be something wrong with the unit itself. Even if the first 56ms spike is a fluke, it's odd that it would take 2ms to go the 3-10feet I assume the ethernet is you are using. Another test is trying ping 127.0.0.1. This is the internal private IP of your PC itself, so if you get latency there, you know it's a software/PC problem. I assume 127 will be good though, since a PC issue wouldn't effect your entire network.

Everything was perfect when sent to that, so you believe the issue could be with the modem itself?
Yes, maybe not a hardware issue, but something isn't quite right. However none of your data fits the 300-400ms spikes you mentioned in your OP. Were you seeing those from ping or inside a game?
I also don't like the SNR on a couple of your channels, but that wouldn't cause a latency issue on the first hop. I think you have two issues so I am trying to isolate which is which.
I've had both, but mainly inside the games, again there were times when I ended up getting entirely kicked out of chrome because the internet just stops working so I have to either reset the internet or disconnect and reconnect. Also for some reason my responses keep getting flagged as spam or abuse
I guess I should ask here, because it was relevant in another thread just now, but how long is the ethernet you are using to connect the PC to the modem/router? Also, do you have a Netgear modem/router?
its not that long, only 4 feet, we only use it when needed, and no I don't use anything netgear

Can you explain that in more detail? What do you have to reset exactly and what are you disconnecting and reconnecting from?
Also, what model gateway do you have? I think it is malfunctioning in some way.
By resetting the internet I mean disconnecting it from the power for 10 seconds and reconnecting it back on. When I say Disconnect I mean forgetting the internet entirely and putting the pin back in so that my internet for my computers are working. And the modem that I'm using is the new panoramic wifi modem
I just had someone with a similar problem on a different thread, and they resolved it by getting a separate modem and router. Is that something you would be willing to do? At the very least, I would suggest a technician out to swap the gateway and maybe try a different model.
What model gateway do you have BTW? Panoramic name falls across like 8 different routers. The model number should be on the same sticker as the wifi name and password.
