Email set up on iphone

I am setting up a Cox e-mail on my iphone for the first time. I have hundreds of e-mails in my Outlook inbox. After I get it set up will all of those e-mails download to the email account on the iphone or is there a limit/time frame on how many of those will actually download?

    If your other device is setup as imap, then what will happen is the header information will download to your iphone for every message, and to read each message you have to be online with the phone and it will retrieve each message as you select it for reading.
