Bridge mode?

I have a Panoramic modem/router combo from Cox.  However, I bought a Linksys AC3000 tri-band router.  My question(s) are: 1)  Am I supposed to set the Cox modem/router to "bridge mode", if I intend...

This begs a third question:  do you now need the Panoramic router?

Great question, and one that I've been wondering about myself.  Perhaps I should outright buy a modem (with voice), to save rental of the Panoramic box?

    If you subscribe to Cox Voice, Cox will freely issue the modem (DOCSIS & eMTA).
