Problems Using Skype

I have Cox internet service--recently upgraded from the basic service to the next level of speed.  I have not been able to successfully use Skype.   The connection is garbled and much of the video ...

Thanks for your response(s).

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N7110.

The wireless information I found is:

Intel Centrino Wireless 1030

MS Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

MS Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter 2

I hope this is what you asked for.  As you no doubt have guessed, I am not "tech" savvy.

I tried to access the manual you referenced but it didn't come through.  All I could get was the "Waiting for Cisco" message which went on and on until I gave up.
