Serious Issue With Yahoo Mail
There is a serious problem with Yahoo mail. While I was bale to set up the Yahoo account I noticed that I was not getting all my emails and the "lost" emails were not in my Inbox, Trash or Spam folder and I did not have any filters and blocked addresses that could cause the problem. And, it seems there is at least one other person with the same issue. So I called Yahoo tech support and after much discussion and higher ups getting involved here is what I was told: I was told to contact the companies, or people, that I was not receiving the emails from and ask them to update their security settings and that there is nothing that Yahoo can do at its end as they won't accept emails from sources that don't meet Yahoo's security needs. I was told by the tech support person that it was my responsibility to get the problem solved not Yahoo's.55Views0likes1CommentGobsmacked at the Unlimited Lie.. It's not even hidden
Since the ACP is ending prices have gone up significantly and now the word unlimited is in the top line of every internet plan that Cox sells but if you scroll to the bottom of that offer you will find a data cap and an insane amount of overage charges if you go over 1.28 terabytes this is just it's sad. I guess, in this age of misinformation it's okay to say oh "it's unlimited" and when you read the last line on the contract data cap is Applied at 1.28 TB Oh well, we're going back to the practice of keeping the poor people poor, making them pay more, make them get less and make him think they've got it made by the lies on the label. Only to find out when the bill comes that they have made a horrible mistake and they have been grifted by their internet service provider.32Views0likes1CommentNot getting all email
I was able to set up the Yahoo account. But while I am getting some emails, I am definitely not getting all emails. I checked and they are not in the spam folder or trash folder, and I have no filters or blocked address on Yahoo that could be causing the problem. In other words, while Yahoo is getting some of the emails sent to myadress@cox.net not all of them are getting to Yahoo. I definitely know that these emails were sent and the people sending them had my correct email address, but they are not all getting through to Yahoo for some reason. For example I got the email sent to me to complete my registration to this forum others have not even got to Yahoo and are not there in my Inbox, Trash, or Spam folder. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?33Views0likes2CommentsUdate on 'not getting all my mail'
I have really appreciated the comments and info above from users. I wrote a message about 10 days ago about receiving very little mail and no sent mail in the new Yahoo account. I think now, after review, that since I was using Thunderbird as a front end and using a POP server, the ‘missing’ mail and sent mail was obviously in the TBird account on my computer. Which I was worried that it would just be a static, frozen data file. Using the info I wrote down about the servers POP and smtp before the merger I wondered if I could merge the Cox-Yahoo new info into the existing account. (Rather than having TBird create a NEW second account for Cox-Yahoo). I opened my existing TBird account and went into the account settings and put in the POP and SMTP info for Yahoo. I had a few challenges since at first there was no OAuth2 in the choices in the drop down list. After a little fiddling around and some restarts of TBird and one trip to Yahoo, suddenly that choice appeared in the list and I was done and it works fine. So I wind up with all my mail and all my sent mail from before and all the new data from the Cox-Yahoo account in my 'new' original TBird account, my objective. My idea of modifying the existing TBird account was reinforced by several of the messages above, and thank you for that added info.49Views1like1CommentE-mail Transition Failure
Since my e-mail has transitioned to Yahoo, I am losing e-mails. E-mails that I have been getting forever are no longer getting delivered, or very sporadic. See below for examples of e-mail concerns. E-mails from Amazon when placing orders; sometimes they get to me, but most of the time not being delivered E-mails from Generac when the generator operates; same as above for Amazon E-mails from friends; one friend sent me an e-mail 5 times before it was ever delivered I try to call Yahoo and all I get is a recording saying there is an extremely long wait an to try calling at a different time. It does let you hang on, but I final gave up after 2 hours. This is totally ridiculous.19Views0likes0CommentsAccess denied when opening COSTCO web site

Just learned the details on how to do this - the instructions in e-mails we are getting are insufficient. Setting up yahoo account via link will only get you to the browser-based e-mail platform. This is required as the first step. Once this step is done, use these setting to set up Yahoo server in Outlook: POP access settings and instructions for Yahoo Mail | Yahoo Help - SLN4724 Old passwords will work using web-based Yahoo platform, but they will not work using outlook! New password is required to link Yahoo platform with Outlook - this is done this way: Open Yahoo page, and under Top Right-side point to You name letter next to e-mail icon and select Account - Overview Select Security - top 3rd from the left side. In the middle on the right side select: Generate and manage app passwords. Under App name enter Outlook. Yahoo will generate loooong password - Copy save it, as this will be the only time you will see it!! Paste this new password to Server Settings inside Outlook. This will link the outlook with Yahoo ... I hope this helps - it took me one hour with designated Yahoo help for Cox transition - 1-866-562-7250 Thyer are very knowledgeable and patient!208Views1like2CommentsOver charge by Cox
We have had MLB.com for years and pay $150/year for it. It can be accessed on our computer or on our television. Cox is now trying to double charge for it saying we requested extra innings (whatever that is) I filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau because they wouldn't remove it. It's relatively easy... if you have an overcharge, don't let them get away with it.40Views0likes1CommentWARNING: Yahoo hides spam from third-party email apps
Yahoo Email filters out their idea of spam into a Yahoo spam folder and never makes it visible to third-party email apps such as Mac Mail or Thunderbird. I found this out the hard way when several critical emails did not arrive as expected, only to find them later in Yahoo's spam folder via their webmail interface. There is no way I've found to turn this off. You can supposedly train their spam filter by marking individual emails as "not spam", but this means you still have to login constantly to Yahoo and check the spam folder for legitimate email.97Views0likes2Comments
