New Panoramic Wifi broadcasting two networks?
Just set up my Panoramic Wifi (Technicolor CGM4331) and configured it to use the same network name/password as my prior Orbi mesh network. I have turned off all Orbi devices - the only modem or router in the house now is the single CGM4331 device. Most of my devices automatically connected, which is why I chose the same name/credentials. No issue there. My mobile devices now see two available wifi networks to pick from: One using the old network name (we'll call it OldNetwork) and one labeled "CoxWiFi". Both are showing as WiFi6. Both disappear if I turn off the CGM4331. OldNetwork shows as secured, and I have to put in my password to access it. CoxWiFi shows as unsecured, however it wants me to log in with my Cox account credentials to access it. Both appear to have similar speeds per the mobile device settings, and neither is labeled 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz which was my first thought. Why is the CGM4331 broadcasting a second identical-seeming WiFi network under CoxWiFi name with different login settings from my existing "primary" WiFi network? How do I shut it down/secure it/combine it with the existing network?3Views0likes0CommentsUsing Yahoo Email on iMac Double Emails On Old Emails
I was able to set up Yahoo emails on my iMac mail icon. After everything download onto my iMac mail my messages have doubled. Looking at my emails before I did it are showing a number 2 next to them. When I click on the 2> two of the same emails drops down. When I click on one of them and hit delete to go to trash both disappear leaving one in my inbox. The thing is that email is now blank. I go into trash and add back to inbox. The message appears again but the 2> come back. I now have over 1,000 messages which should only be 500. Has anyone figured out what to do to get messages back to normal?15Views0likes0Comments- 18Views0likes0Comments
Yahoo server settings? Smtp/pop etc
After an experience I can only liken to a tooth extraction without novacaine I'm signed into Yahoo mail. Small victories. But now I need to configure my apps to deal with Yahoo - smtp, pop, whatever. I use Thunderbird on my PC platforms, and BlueMail on my various devices. (would assume the settings are the same for all, but just to be safe...) This trip to the dentist isn't done until I have restored access across my various stuff. Little help, here?25Views0likes1CommentEmail transition a complete farce
Note - this was posted in a response to another thread, thought I'd copy to a new one. May 4th - attempted to set up as per instructions. Went to Yahoo, entered my username but thus far every single attempt to create a password (dozens) have been met with error messages, even when I get approval on the password. This is unacceptable. When I decided to leave a post here (never have before) I needed to sign up - Cox sent a verification email to my cox.net address which has not shown up at all, I had to revert to a gmail address I never use. It would appear that as of my transition attempt my cox.net mail is now broken. This is beyond unacceptable. The primary email I've used for over 20 years is suddenly down, and I have no idea how many mails I've missed. Changing providers and then informing some hundreds of regulars of that change is beyond inconvenient, and enters into legally actionable territory. Later today when I've cooled down a bit I'll take another whack at Yahoo - if results are the same 2 things will happen - I'll transition email to another provider and began the above process of informing hundreds of contacts. I'll begin the search (brief, there are many) for a new service provider overall. Then on Monday I'll have a little chat w/my legal dept, have them look into the possibilities. I am beyond disappointed in Cox.27Views0likes1CommentCox Email Transition Link
The link provided by cox says "1. Visit www.cox.com/emailmove and enter your full email address, including the Cox.net suffix, as your username." However, the link above sends me to a .ru Russian Domain link; https://waitingtosky.ru/C0489iekio/and9224vv/ Doesn't seem legit.121Views0likes4CommentsYahoo Mail = bigger discount?
I'm curious if Cox is planning to slash their prices now that they've ditched their email servers and support, leaving their customers to fend off spam and ads like they're starring in their own inbox horror movie. Sure, there's a $1.99 upgrade to Yahoo+ per account, but if you've got multiple accounts, it can add up faster than a caffeinated squirrel on a sugar high. Looks like Cox is winning big time with this move, but what about the rest of us? And no, I don't want a mobile phone. I'm just trying to get my emails without needing a degree in spam warfare!17Views1like0CommentsSetting Up Cox/Yahoo Email on an iPhone
I tried several ways to get my new Cox/Yahoo aocount on my iPhone. Turns out it was very easy, but I haven't seen this solution anywhere. Delete the old Cox account under Settings -> Mail Add a new account Select Yahoo! It will ask you to sign in - use your old Cox email address as your username: jdoe@cox.net and then click next. It will then ask for your password - use the new password you created when you transitioned to Yahoo and then click next On the next screen, make sure "email" is on and then click "save" That should do it!39Views0likes0CommentsOngoing connection issues
Is anybody else in Tulsa having intermittent connection issues? For at least the last few months I have had internet drop for a minute or two and then work fine for awhile. Sometimes it affects TV as well. It seems to happen at the top of every hour and at other times. Since you can't call in a ticket or enter one online, your option is to use the worthless chat feature. Having a college student in the house as well as working from home has become a big issue. It may be time to get 5G internet and getting Dish for TV. I am paying $360.00 per month for an unreliable service. They always want to come into your home to test the signal strength and I tell them to test to the dmarc on the house first. In the last two years I have had my cable disconnected at the pedestal to open a port to connect a new customer. This happened late on a Friday and even though it was a Cox screw up I had to wait until Monday to get it resolved. Then the same thing happened again a week later.36Views0likes1Comment
