Thunderbird conversion
I could use some help. I can log into Yahoo's web server to get my mail. I'm trying to switch Thunderbird from the Cox server to Yahoo. I'm being asked for my password on imap.mail.yahoo.com. I enter what I believe is my password. I get the error message "login to server IMAP.mail.yahoo.com with userID mhorowit@cox.net failed" Can you assist?- Mike79Views0likes4CommentsEMail not saving messages
As far as I can determine I am still with Cox email. Today two out of my six accounts stopped saving messages. I use Thunderbird for emails and the 'SENT' file is grayed out and no messages show. I get two error messages Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder due to network or file problems The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxx@cox.net responded [TRYCREATE] Mailbox doesn't exist. When I log in to webmail.cox.net, I can see the old message but the newly sent message are not being saved. Four out of the six account are working OK1View0likes0CommentsCox New Yahoo Email Starts Now
Well went to check Cox email, and guess what ? I had to make the move to yahoo email. Couple of things learned by my mistakes. You will have to change your email password so have one ready. Don't sign into your phone and computers until you have made sure you are established in the new yahoo account. Was kinda pain free. Will have to learn new ways of doing things, but what else is new. Little more difficult if you already have a Yahoo email account, but you can work around it with a little thought. If anyone learns new tricks to change over list them here so we don't have to hunt all over for them. GOOD LUCK435Views0likes2CommentsOnly IPv4 after modem upgrade (IPv6)
Hello, Today I upgrade my modem from a Cisco DPC3010 to an Arris S33. I had to chat with Cox support to register the new modem. After they registered the modem, Internet started working only for IPv6 addresses. IPv4 addresses were not routed to the Internet. The customer support representative only recommended to clear the cookies, and did not know what else to do apart from sending a technician. I could not wait for a technician to come, so I asked them to re-register the old modem. With the old modem it was again working in both IPv4 and IPv6. Any recommendation about how to fix this? Try again? Thanks, Ludovico7Views0likes1CommentUsing Yahoo email in Mac OS mail app
I have created my Yahoo account in my Mac OS mail, but I can't seem to bring it online-attempts to change it from offline to online are futile. Anyone with a Mac able to help? I tried Yahoo chat, the AI bot is useless and if I want help from Yahoo I have to pay. I can't stand Yahoo in the browser. I can't see the text very well b/c my eyes are old now. The ads are annoying and I will drop Cox before I pay for Yahoo premium. We were looking for a reason to switch to the new Verizon 5g box. Might be now. Thank you in advance.Solved4.4KViews4likes95CommentsWebco advertisement when tv turned on
When the tv is first turned on, a Webco advertisement appears rather than going to a tv channel. It is supposed to go away with the push of any button on the Contour remote, but it doesn't. None of the buttons do anything. We have to just wait for up to 2 minutes for the channel to come on. We've set the privacy and notification preferences, but nothing changed.34Views0likes4CommentsCox email transition - has anyone completed the transition to Yahoo
Has anyone completed the email transition to Yahoo? It would be appreciated if any Cox customer would answer this question. I have been trying to get some information about when; and all I receive from Cox is we don’t know. In my opinion this response is unbelievable - a significant customer service change and the company’s help response team can’t provide an answer is unbelievable - implies a lack of transparency or worst. So that’s why I am calling out to any Cox customer and provide some feedback about the “actual” transition. I and many of us have received the preliminary emails about the future. Has anyone's completed the transition?3.9KViews2likes40CommentsCox IS BAD!
Service sucks. Always dropping. Mine has been out over 24 hours. No eta anymore. Just broken. They need to communicate more to affected clients! No reason its out 24 hrs without a notice it will be if they are doing a scheduled maintenance or upgrade! Customer service just says sorry and provide a bill credit of 5 dollars which is 8٪ of my hourly rate. I hate cox and have no other option!35Views0likes2Comments
