Help with Yahoo and Outlook Transition
I began the move to yahoo on Thursday. I use Outlook as my primary place for looking at my emails and I have a business email address directed there via my Cox email address so I can those messages and they stay separate from my personal emails. All of my emails transferred to Yahoo, except those associated with my business email address. Outlook, after setting up the servers is only getting my main email address and folders to show up but I have over 3200 emails that are not transferring onto Outlook from Yahoo. My business email address and related folders and emails is no longer there. I spent time on phone with Yahoo and Microsoft but to date both companies just want to blame the other for fact that all of my emails are not showing up in Outlook. Can anyone help me with this issue? The transition gets a big fat "F" in my evaluation. To top it off, if you call into Cox, their system rolls the technical questions about emails over to Yahoo. So I'm still missing my emails after four plus days of trying to resolve this. I've been a customer of Cox for over 20 years. What a way to treat loyal customers.9Views0likes0CommentsCox lowered upload from 100gig to 35gig in Portsmouth VA?
I am located in Portsmouth, Virginia, for the past year, since March 2nd of 2023, Cox upgraded all our internet to 1000 gig download and 100 gig upload; I am an international streamer and have been streaming online for five years now, and I was so happy that Cox was upgrading us to 100gig upload. Now, the problem! Just recently, I logged into my account this month, May 5th, 2024, and low and behold, they changed my plan without notification (Without sending an email or text) that they downgraded me to 35 gigabytes. I called Tech, and they were closed after hours. Then, I used their online texting service and reached someone overseas who could only read what I see now on my account and not what I had in the past. So, pretty much, I was talking to the wall! Has anyone else noticed their upload speeds drop? I have 7 wifi security cameras around the house, 8 wifi lightbulbs, 2 Wifi Wyze robot vacs (I test for Wyze), Pretty much all Wifi computerized house and most of my cameras are pet cams because I do TNR (Catch feral cats), watching the food bowl at what times the feral cats come around. Wyze cameras are cheap, around $20 a piece, and their monthly service is only $3, which helps to cut costs down for a disabled veteran like myself. I don't have TV service and only watch streaming TV through the internet, which Tmobile Military provides Netflix at a discount or free. The only high cost is COX, and I wish they wouldn't charge me $100 plus dollars for internet, but I need that high speed for streaming. Now they just cut the upload and didn't even cut my bill. Upload is critical for a multi-video chat stream while doing a professional video game presentation from home.15Views0likes0CommentsOutages
What is going on with all these outages? In the last 30 days, we've had 2 multiple hour outages that have made it impossible for me to work. And now another one today?? We were out of service for 2 days last summer for an "upgrade" that was supposed to prevent the service interruptions, looks like that didn't work. I pay an obscene monthly bill to have such unreliable service. My supervisor is starting to question that there could seriously be such a terrible internet provider. Inevitable questions: Workplace security prevents me logging in on a hotspot. I work remotely for a California company, can't just run to the office.25Views0likes1CommentFor MAC users with Outlook 365 that want to transition from COX to Yahoo email
Below are a set of repeatable instructions for the transition from COX.net to yahoo.com email MS OUTLOOK 365 migration on MacBook; open Outlook Outlook > settings > personal settings/accounts Click “+” to add account lower left corner Enter Email address username@cox.net Click Continue Select “not IMAP?” in upper right corner and select “Y! Yahoo” Select “Sync to the Microsoft Cloud” by pressing “Continue” Log into Yahoo with email account & regular password ( and prove you are not a robot) Click “Agree”, if you agree Add a verification option if requested by Yahoo Access for MS Outlook > agree Select profile in MS Outlook if asked It isn’t working until you get a grayed out “Microsoft Sync technology” under the email address in the “accounts” settings (not sure why) This has now worked repeatably for me with 9 Cox email accounts14Views0likes0CommentsCompetitive pricing and high-speed offering
Hello Cox Community, I am a resident of Gainesville, Florida, and I’ve noticed that Pavlov Media is offering a 1 Gbps fiber internet service for $69. This has caught my attention and likely that of other community members due to its competitive pricing and high-speed offering. Given this development, I am curious to know if Cox Cable has any plans to offer similar or competitive pricing and speed upgrades for our area. Many of us are interested in understanding whether Cox is looking to enhance its service to match or exceed the value proposition presented by Pavlov Media. It would be great to get some insights into any upcoming plans that might benefit customers in our region who are seeking faster internet speeds at a reasonable price point. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Daniel S32Views0likes2CommentsMotorola MB8611 connection drops frequently
Hello All, I've been using a Motorola MB8611 cable modem for about 6 months. It's been very reliable and hardly ever drops the connection. Over the past week my modem is rebooting a few times a day. Today it's been rebooting every 20 min. I made a call to Cox to check out the line. I asked the agent in tech support about outages. I was told there were no outages in my area. About two weeks ago Cox did an upgrade in my area. I'm wondering if that has something to do with it? Could a version of firmware been downloaded to the modem and now it's not compatible? I'm not able to view the firmware. I can't seem to connect to the modem. My modem is connected to a WiFi router. By the way, this is my modem. I did confirm that it works with Cox before purchasing. Cox activated it without issues. Any thoughts? suggestions? Thank in advance.20Views0likes4CommentsConnected devices not showing up on Cox wifi app or the Panoramic Gateway website
I'm trying to check the connection strength for my Samsung television because I'm having a problem with buffering and audio not syncing with a speaker's lips. The Cox wifi app shows many of my devices as unconnected to my wifi network even though they are connected. Similarly, under Connected Devices on the website for my Panoramic Gateway, many of my devices, such as my television, printers, and laptops, show as unconnected when they are in fact connected. Is there anything I can do to have these devices show as connected on the wifi app and the Gateway website? Thanks for your assistance.27Views0likes1CommentNew Panoramic Wifi broadcasting two networks?
Just set up my Panoramic Wifi (Technicolor CGM4331) and configured it to use the same network name/password as my prior Orbi mesh network. I have turned off all Orbi devices - the only modem or router in the house now is the single CGM4331 device. Most of my devices automatically connected, which is why I chose the same name/credentials. No issue there. My mobile devices now see two available wifi networks to pick from: One using the old network name (we'll call it OldNetwork) and one labeled "CoxWiFi". Both are showing as WiFi6. Both disappear if I turn off the CGM4331. OldNetwork shows as secured, and I have to put in my password to access it. CoxWiFi shows as unsecured, however it wants me to log in with my Cox account credentials to access it. Both appear to have similar speeds per the mobile device settings, and neither is labeled 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz which was my first thought. Why is the CGM4331 broadcasting a second identical-seeming WiFi network under CoxWiFi name with different login settings from my existing "primary" WiFi network? How do I shut it down/secure it/combine it with the existing network?44Views0likes2Comments
