One phone line with 2 separate numbers
I just switched to COX from another provider. The last company was able to set up one new telephone line with two numbers: a telephone number and for an additional $6.99 a separate (they called it a virtual phone number) number. We used the second number as our fax number. I wonder if this can be done with COX. Thank You.3.7KViews0likes1CommentModem Update
I want to upgrade to an AC wireless modem, but, it seems none of them come with VOIP. Is there a network attachment to add the phone service? Arris sells one, but they say it may not work with all carriers. Arris TM602 Telephony Modem [Bulk Packaging] - Docsis Networks Input please? Mike3.8KViews0likes3CommentsIntermittent Phone Service?
I just got word that my father is in the hospital back in Boston. But I cant call home to find out whats going on. I cant call Cox to find out why I cant call. I get a dial tone, dial the number, then listen to silence. I can see the phone light blinking on the modem. I cant find an online support chat to help me. I cant do anything but wait and worry. And for this I, a single disabled woman, paid $160 this month for Cox services. On a Friday our analog telephone stopped working and we called Tech support the following Monday. They told us that they would send someone out to "fix" our problem. The tech arrived and told us he was sent here because he needed to upgrade our phone line to digital. We weren't notified by Cox of this service interruption and we were really hesitant as our analog line NEVER went out during a storm. Two weeks later that changed and we didn't have any Emergency Access or regular phone access. Unreal how companies think this will improve service and causes their customers to be in more danger. What happens if a storm like Sandy hits our area...all mobile phones will be out in my area and we will be S.O.L. with this forced Digital service. Can we get our old copper telephone service back?11KViews0likes7CommentsCall Log
I requested a call log at my local Cox retail store on 2/4/16. What is the status? I was told that somebody would contact me within 7-10 business days. Please be aware that this request is related to the fiasco I encountered with many Cox technicians and support individuals regarding the fact that Call History didn't work prior to January 21.3.7KViews1like1CommentCox and Gmail
I had a bundle with Verizon and am new to Cox. Verizon had a service that sent an email to my Gmail account whenever someone called me on my home telephone. It did not matter if a voice mail was left or not. I do not use Cox voicemail but have my own answering service machine. This was handy because if I were away from home I could see that someone had called. Does anyone know if Cox offers this service?Solved6.3KViews0likes3CommentsMoving a phone from one room to another
I had a phone installed a year or more ago, at the time there was no charge to add this service, but when I contacted COX today, they informed me that they would charge $50.00 to move the phone from the room it is in now to another in the same house, same wiring, same TV, same internet...etc. What is so difficult about unscrewing a coax wire and screwing it into another room but for some reason, COX won't provide any service without charging ridiculous fees. It's literally a 5-10 minute job and I've managed to just get a coax extension, drill a hole and move it to the next room while it's still connected to the same outlet. The reasoning behind all these charges for doing something so simple is just another reason that COX is becoming the worst provider I've ever used. It's nothing but greed and the two words "Customer Service" don't exist at this company. Good luck to all who stay with this rip-off company. New Years resolution is to change providers ASAP.Solved4.5KViews0likes1CommentNo Dial tone
