They tried to give me this same BS "it'll be fixed next year" and well, that's not acceptable. I pay for this service. Sic the FCC on them. Re: Gigablast service - Upload is now 1Mbps Google "FCC internet complaint" or visit this link. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints They'll start taking your issue a bit more seriously once you do that. Re: Advice for some of you with ongoing issues. Yes, that's the lie they fed me for 3 months as well. Then I called the FCC. Then Cox called me. Then my internet was fixed the next day. Re: Advice for some of you with ongoing issues. How to fix your internet 1) Call the FCC .....That's it. That's really all you have to do if you've already been messing with cox techs and getting no real fixes for over a month. Call the FCC and they'll call Cox. Re: Internet down every night around the same time and doesn't come on until late morning My internet was messing up for 3 months. Packet loss and no upload speed. Then I called the FCC and told them what was going on. Then a couple days later my internet was fixed without me having to talk to Cox. Skip Cox. Call the FCC. Re: What will it take to get decent internet? CALL THE FCC. Re: Data usage going way over average after Fiber installation at new house Same thing happening to me. My network monitoring software says my network is using about 8 gigs a day, but there are days when Cox says I'll use 50+. Cox has been a joke since the pandemic started. Re: Internet down/customer service a joke now? Call the FCC for any complaints against Cox. I did that and they fixed my service literally the next day 🙂 Issues with your internet? Call the FCC! I spent 3 whole months trying to get cox to fix noise in the line which was causing me to have zero speed. After getting the run around with 2 tech visits a week every week for 3 months, I finally decided to call the FCC. The FCC said they pulled up my information with cox, saw I was having a problem, and told me they were contacting cox. The very next day my problem was fixed. Do not waste your time talking to these people. If you have a problem that you know 100% for sure is an issue with Cox (like you've run pingplotter, winmtr, and verified that the packet loss/slow speed is NOT your hardware) the FCC will get you fixed up reasonably quick, apparently. Good luck Re: Packet loss issue for 3 months. Solved for a week, now back again worse than ever. One time I called cox to complain about packet loss. The guy on the phone asked "A packet? Like from Amazon?" ..........And that's the last time I spoke to tier 1. If you want someone who knows what they're talking about, you gotta get to tier 2. The real solution is going to be switching to DSL until cox gets a handle on their network. Or spend countless hours on the phone until you finally talk to someone who will do more for you than read a *** script.
