When I signed up and tried to add my home phone number, I got an error that said: Phone number Premium-rate numbers are not supported. The help text has the following: 1. Premium-rate telephone number Premium-rate telephone numbers are telephone numbers for telephone calls during which certain services are provided, and for which prices higher than normal are charged. Unlike a normal call, part of the call charge is paid to the service provider, thus enabling businesses to be funded via the calls. While the billing is different, calls are usually routed the same way they are for a toll-free telephone number, being anywhere despite the area code used. These telephone numbers are usually allocated from a national telephone numbering plan in such a way that they are easily distinguished from other numbers. Telephone companies typically offer blocking services to allow telephone customers to prevent access to these number ranges from their telephones. In some jurisdictions, telephone companies are required by law to offer such blocking. Adult chat lines and tech support are a very common use of premium-rate numbers. Other services include directory enquiries, weather forecasts, competitions and voting. Diplomatic services, such as the US embassy in London or the UK Embassy in Washington, have also charged premium rates for calls from the general public. Are Cox home phone numbers premium? That makes no sense to me. I already have a ticket open for the tool to see if there is an error on their side, but was told to contact my phone provider to make sure. Thanks for the help. Re: History Channel line up messed up Wonderful, thanks for looking into this. Re: History Channel line up messed up bryaninphx, all I have is the digital cable box from Cox and I am talking about the channel information that pops up when I press the Info button on the remote. You press it twice and get detailed information about the show. It is wrong and off by 2 hours. I have no idea what STB means. Re: History Channel line up messed up Yes, it is still occurring as of last night. History Channel line up messed up For at least a few weeks, the History Channel information description has been off by 2 hours. What you see in info does not get shown on the TV for another 2 hours. This is in the Tucson, Arizona area. Anyone else seeing this? I tried unplugging the box and powering it back up, but that didn't help. SolvedRe: High Def channels no longer earlier than standard channels And thanks all for the replies, now my brain is at ease. Re: High Def channels no longer earlier than standard channels I guess I will look into that now. Some shows I can watch on demand but some are not there, so DVR sounds like it would be best. High Def channels no longer earlier than standard channels The high def channels used to come on earlier than the standard channels by an hour or 2. For example, 23 and 1023 or 36 and 1036. What happened? Now both come on at the same time, which is the late time, so shows like Gold Rush come on at 9 and 10 for the new ones instead of 7 and 8. That is a little late for me and loved it when it was earlier. Why did they stop that? This is for Cox in Tucson. SolvedRe: Email being sent back from certain addresses I tried again with 465 as I didn't have the"My server requires authentication" boxed check on the server tab. It now works with 465 but the email is still rejected when going to Postmaster@cox.net.
