So - OK to delete mine (after I migrate) - but she keeps hers open? Should I still keep my cox email address? Our Thunderbird is set up with 2 email accounts - Gmail & Cox cable. Actually 3 as my wife also uses TB for her Cox emails. Cox is moving over to Yahoo. Not a fan of Yahoo. Eventually I will either set up another Gmail account (cox was for subscriptions or when a business needs an email address) and my has a Gmail already, but she does not use TB for that as for her Cox is her main email. So can I delete our Cox emails thru Cox web email site without losing our emails currently in TB? And will that mess things up as TB sends and receives email from cox cable? Any tips and suggestions much appreciated. Re: Whole house dvr - thoughts? Not exactly a side by side comparison. Still not clear that a whole house dvr is what we need or want. And can I truly way watch a recorded show even if not at home? That might be great if and we start traveling again. Re: Whole house dvr - thoughts? Agree on both Whole house dvr - thoughts? Currently we have 2 Cisco independent boxes. to save money the Rep suggested the whole house set up. Guessing that’s a main box and a satellite. We had that 5 yrs ago and both me and the wife were not a fan. We both record a bunch of shows (sometime 2 each while watching a 3rd - so 6 total). One of the things we did not like was having to scroll thru the one shared recorded list to get to the one show we are looking for. Am I correct, that has not changed? so curious on “your” thoughts - pros and cons of the whole house set up. Re: Should I upgrade the modem? Which Mikro tik product are you referring to? There web site has many choices. Re: Should I upgrade the modem? Looks like the Orbi does not have theDynamic QoS settings. Must have been the old netgear router I had that i was thinking of. Re: Should I upgrade the modem? Bruce - thx. And thanks for saving money. When i first set up the router i “played” with the QoS and it actually decreased speed. I will revisit that feature. Should I upgrade the modem? Currently have the Preferred service using a arris Surfboard 3.0 (SB6190). With both kids back at home and 18 or so devices connected (3 wired, 5 via 2.4G & 10 via 5G) - would upgrading modem to a SB8200 (3.1) be beneficial? Or wait till I upgrade the service to Ultimate or gigablast? Our router is a Orbi ac3000 triband - RBR50 - the main and a satellite. Issue is that great getting 165 mpbs on speed, but a significant drop when someone streaming a movie. Thx. Re: What could possibly be hurting my signal??? Are not the SB8200 and netgear cm1000 both modems? What router do you have? What speeds is Cox promising? If not already, I’d swap Cat 5 cables to 6 if not done so already. Im thinking of upgrading to the Gigablast, but not if speed not the 1gb.
