I understand speeds fluctuate and nothing beyond the 25/3FCC "broadband definition" is promised. The problems happen over ethernet and wireless, any website or service. down is 90-1200, and up is 0-40, havepacket losson all hops beyond the gatewayevery few minutes, ping is 0-2000, jitter goes up to 100. Theyhave been upgrading the node/network in my area and everyfew days there is a "We are working in your area to provide you with a more consistent internet experience" notice on Cox.com. I think that5 months without resolutionis a bit much, and beyond expecting someone to be patient and wait it out. Everythinghas been notated by techs (directly at the tap) on the accountto the point Cox employees are surprised when they pull up my account and see all the notes, but because itsintermittent they are unable to pinpoint the source of theingress. I can connect to the houses ATT Uverse or the T-Mobile Home internet and the above issuesdisappear, but both services only offer slower speeds then Gigablast when itsworking correctly. The Gateway was replaced last month, as was the ethernet cord with the one in the samebox. Drivers are up to date, Windows install is fresh, have tried another motherboard, and another PC. Usually there isn’t more then 2 devices using the connection at once. Thetap plate was replaced, and a new drop was ran, outside ofthe piece that’s thru side of house, there areno splitters inside, outside,ora wall plate. FINAL UPDATE: issue still unresolved. Escalations has been supposed to call me back since 10/10. Email support and another Escalations employee have both reached out to the person in charge of my case.I’ve called multiple times, and left messages myself. The latest information notated on my account is that Techsare driving around in my townrandomly replacing old lines/connections. Am switching to T-Mobile 5g home internet. hmm, reply did not post for whatever reason.👀 I only have internet service, so it’s just loose rg11 from tap to side of house, no splitters, no wall plate.a new dropwas ran last month, only the end cable that actually goes thru the wall was kept. I’m using the Ethernet cable provided in the gateway box. The ethernetsettings were the defaults. There was a days long “we are working to deliver a more consistent internet experience in your area” last week, and this started up at that point.I switched it to 2500 and 1000 and restarted both times but neither made a difference. The down speed is randomly stuck in the 90s for periods of time. I had consistent 1000+ down before last week, but my upload was 0-4 most ofthe day, now both are poop. My jitter is often close to 30, I have high latency and packet-loss onall hops to anywhere, so I’m thinking I may have an ingress problem. It happens on wireless devices as well, it just decides Idon’t need anymore speed. Am also in Pensacola, it doesn’t get better. My original call was in May. I’ve had 13+ techs come out, who will eventually see and document the problems along with the suggested fixes, but the field team comes out and sees you have internet service, doesn’t care if it’s slower and less consistent then your cell phones 5g and decides to leave. You can email ping plotter results,trace routes, speed tests showing the same slow speeds, packet loss and connection dropping completely,whichtechs have also notated, and even make make multiple FCC complaints, and it will be escalated, to the same field time who views any internet service at all as acceptable.You’ll speak to the field leadership at some point, who will tell you to email them, but will ghost you after the initial email. You’ll see notices on cox.com that things arebeing worked on in your area, yet your internet will somehow get worse. I used to see 1000 + down / 40+ up, currentlyI see 90 down / 3 up, 100% packet loss every few minutes, and random minutes of no internet service and they tell me nothing is wrong. My Verizon iPhone hotspotand AT&T 100 down/20 up DSL line work better wirelessly then Cox Gigablast does through a wired connection.3Views0likes4CommentsRe: Intermittent service
There is only a charge if it’s something inside the house. They want you to add“Cox Complete Care” to bypass that problem. My advice would be that if you have any other option with similar advertised speeds to switch, they will just waste months of your time dragging their feet barelytrying to fix the issue.0Views0likes1CommentRe: Typical I have to monitor their network but they give no work order or tracking information
