Cox has become one of the WORST utilities I've ever dealt with Possibly getting hacked on a daily basis Im currently running AVG internet security 2013 (updated almost hourly), SUPER anti-spyware updated daily, and wireless network watcher. Almost everyday lately someone has been hacking into my router (even AFTER i change the admin password) and changing my wlan password. The only way i can get back online is to keep resetting my router (pain in the you-know-what) as I cannot figure out a way to get them off the network. I did track them down and it is a company overseas Compal Information in China. (probably another hack from there... very common these days.) not sure if cox can do anything but just wanted to make them aware of this ongoing issue. Re: high pings while playing video games (primarily World of Warcraft) Cox is responsible for how our internet paths are routed throughout the network. It is appalling that they wont take responsibility for anything that happens within their network (check node 4... it is a cox node). I really hope they can get an IT tech to check into this not some "forum moderator". Re: high pings while playing video games (primarily World of Warcraft) and heres a pathping (tracert... same thing) with wow up and running.. bliz has confirmed that since cox is my isp and responsible for rerouting my traffic it falls on cox not blizzard, cogento or att... C:\Users\Bill> Re: How can I keep from getting a computer virus? a great AV software is AVG free edition (http://free.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download) i actually have AVG internet security and its great.... Firewall AND anti virus combined but i had to buy it high pings while playing video games (primarily World of Warcraft) just a reference of my blizzard thread http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7789098936#8 I know for a fact it is NOT a Blizzard problem as they have investigated many problems lately my tracert shows the drops between cox.com and att.net through the server which the traffic needs to be re-routed. Only cox can do this... again NOT a Blizzard problem or an issue with my modem/router.
