I exchanged the contour box a while ago for the same reason and I don't want to do that again because I lose everything I've recorded. It really seems like a problem with Cox. Re: Contour performance This has been happening to us for a while now and I'm really sick of it. Sometimes when watching something on the DVR, it just decides to start the show over. Then if I try to fast forward to the point I was at before it restarted, it won't stop until the end. The DVR has been a big problem for a while now and I'm wondering if it's worth it. My data usage went up again. I'm so tired of worrying about my data usage. I've been a customer since before Cox was Cox. I've raised 2 children and 2 grandchildren and never have I had to worry about data use. I use a hard wired desktop and my husband uses a desktop on wifi a few hours a day. We turned the wifi off of our phones and when the grandkids come over, they use their own internet because somehow I'm using 30 to 50 gigs a day doing nothing. I thought this was fixed last month when my use went back down to under 10 gigs a day but now it's happening again. Anyone else having the problem of being charged more gigs than they can possible use in a day? Re: Data usage discrepancy There is no explanation. Historically, I used about 300 gigs a month, then last November or December my usage according to Cox shot up to 50 gigs a day. I changed out my router/modem, changed my password, had techs out to my house 3 times and nothing helped. I don't stream tv or music, I may watch YouTube a little but there is no way I used 50 gigs a day ever. Last month, my usage went back to normal but 2 days ago, Cox said that I used 50 gigs again. I replaced my modem and router and still had them say I was using 50 gigs a day when I had never used more than 300 a month until December of 2018. This week, it looked like it was fixed, then this happened today. Re: Data Usage Meter I've been on hold for over 30 minutes now waiting for someone to explain the fact that my data usage went from 76% yesterday to 157% today. Their usage meter has been wrong for the last month and now it's gone crazy. In the past, I never used more than 300 gigs a month and since December they have said that I've used over 1026 gigs a month. I thought it was corrected in the last week but then today happened!! Re: High data usage Something changed, my usage is now where it should be. For the last four days, I'm only using 4 gigs a day which is where it should be for my usage. There were times in the past when grandkids were here watching netflix and streaming on their iPads that we used 10 gigs a day and that too, was acceptable. I would still like to know how I used 50 gigs a day for over 2 months, though.
