I went with arooftop antenna.(One time cost). Iuse the Cox Internet wirelessly through my Router to access Amazon Prime which I already had for free shipping. And yes, we tried connecting the new Cox phone with WiFi turned off. How do I find out if my landline is "in contract?" I have been calling Cox about every other day to ask how things were going. (Texting is useless). I have been toldmore than once by tech support that it is compatible. I am aware that Cox is a MVNO of Verizon. I have been on Verizon's website to see I could learn anything, but got nowhere. I have been told by Cox (it is the first thing I asked) that my landline is compatible. In checking the list of Verizon MVNOs online I noticed Cox was not listed, but the webpage is probably old. (One of my pet peeves...rarely do webpages give you a date when the info was posted). Re: no porting I am not moving. The landline phone and new cox cell phone are in the same building. I am not changing providers. This is all with Cox. The land line has been with Cox for 20 years. The cell phone is new, purchased from Cox. My simple request to port my land line number to my new cell phone has been unsuccessful. We have turned off the WiFi, took out the SIM and replaced it, I even tired signing in to Cox with Edge instead of Chrome. Nothing. I tried contacting Verizon since Cox is a MVNO with them. But no dice. Since I am not a customer I got nowhere. no porting On March 9, 2023 I purchased a new cell phone from Cox and requested that my existing landline phone number with Cox be ported to my new Cox Cell Phone. After numerous calls with Cox and numerous promises and NO updates from them I still do not have service on my new Cox Cell Phone. April 24, 2023. What can I do? The new phone I purchased from Cox can only be used with Cox. I am still receiving bills from Cox for a non-existing service. Kathi Anderson
