All of my settings are correct (since I can send fine if I am on my home WiFi or WiFi at my office). As soon as I disconnect from WiFi and try to send mail while connected to the AT&T cellular data network, all outbound emails just get stuck in the Outbox and will not send. Per the suggestion of telephone support I tried changing the port from 587 to 465 but it made no difference. Telephone support suggested that it must be an AT&T problem and I should contact them, but I have multiple other email accounts on my iPhone that use port 587 for the SMTP server and they all work fine. I have also seen reports by other users on this forum that they are having a similar issue with phones on Verizon. The fact that this issue exists across multiple cellular carriers and started exactly when Cox made "upgrades" to their email servers indicates that Cox is responsible for the issue. Someone at Cox needs to actually look into all of these issues that "coincidentally" appeared exactly when Cox made changes to their email servers, rather than just blaming users or other companies. The only actions that seem to be taken upon multiples users reporting issues are suggestions to "change your password" or "check to make sure your settings are correct" or "just use webmail instead". None of these are valid or helpful answers. My password and settings are correct and I am able to send email just fine when connected via WiFI, but I should be (and always have been in the past) able to send emails just as easily when connected to a cellular data network. Using Webmail on an iPhone is cumbersome and not an acceptable substitute for the native mail app. I have been a Cox customer for 18 years, and have never had any issues until the multitude of problems that have occurred over the past several months during which Cox has been "upgrading" their email. In addition to my current problems with sending mail from my iPhone I have also experienced at times: delays in receiving mail, delays in sending mail, emails sent to other cox customers that never arrived despite being in my sent items folder with no return error messages received (also reported by others on thisforum), not to mention the annoyance where Outlook keeps randomly asking for the password to check email even though it already has the correct password. All of these issues have been posted on these forums multiple times by different users, but Cox support seems unwilling to accept any responsibility or take any action. I was practically begging a phone support rep to look into my current issue and/or kick it up the chain to get it solved, but he just said "Nope, sounds like an AT&T issue so you will need to bring it up to them". What do we have to do to get Cox to acknowledge and look into solutions for a serious issue, rather than just dismissing, blaming others, or offering laughable "solutions"? Re: Codes for linking universal remote not working On your Bose universal remote, try using the code for Comcast (1355) or Xfinity (8096) as the Cox Contour 2 cable boxes are really just rebranded Comcast Xfinity hardware. Please post back if this works. Re: Contour 2 & IR Remote Wrong again! You do not need to disable RF to use IR. You can simultaneously use their provided remote with RF while using your own system for IR control. If you are using a universal remote you will need to reprogram it for controlling the new boxes.. Contour 2 boxes use a completely different set of IR commands than Contour 1 boxes. Do not try to use codes labeled for use with Cox. They won't work. Look for codes that were designed for Comcast Xfinity cable boxes and they will work. Then you just have to play around until you find the most effective spot to attach your emitters. If you have any problems setting up your system and want to google for answers, search using "Comcast Xfinity" instead of "Cox Contour" and you will likely find the answers you want. Re: Contour 2 & IR Remote When you want answers about the Contour 2 system, don't go looking for answers that reference "Cox" or "Contour 2". You won't find any. Search for Comcast Xfinity since Countour 2 is just a licensed rebranded Xfinity rollout. Try locating your box on this page: X1-Boxes-and-IR-Locations and it should show where to place the IR emitter. The slave boxes I have are the Cisco XiD (model #CXD01ANI on the bottom) and the front looks like solid black plastic with no window for IR reception, but they work just fine with my IR only universal remote. Re: Contour 2 & IR Remote You were given the wrong answer. Check out this previous thread for the correct answer: http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/t/14034.aspx Re: Contour 2 Record 6 (Arris XG1v3) box with Harmony (universal) remote The information that pairing the RF remote disables the IR port is on the Contour 2 boxes is incorrect. I currently have 3 Contour 2 host boxes and 1 Contour 2 client box which all have the supplied remote paired for RF but still work just fine with my universal remotes via IR. I don't have a Harmony remote, but use URC MX-850 remotes and one MX-980. The key is just finding the right set of IR codes for your Harmony. Try setting up your Harmony as though you have Comcast Xfinity. The Contour 2 boxes are really just rebranded Xfinity technology and they use the same hardware so the Comcast Xfinity IR codes should work. Re: Third party control systems and New Contour products. For one of my boxes I have an IR emitter stuck to the front. The other 2 have IR blasters aimed at the front IR sensor, so I didn't have any reason to try the rear IR input and can't comment on how it works. Re: Third party control systems and New Contour products. I was given the same information about "not supporting" third party remotes/control. Don't believe it. The Cox Contour 2 boxes work just fine with IR control (even when you simultaneously control them with the provided RF connected remote). I just had three Contour 2 boxes installed and was easily able to program my Universal Remote Control MX-850 remotes and my MX-980 to control the boxes (via RF base stations hooked to IR emitters). If you need to program a universal remote just look for codes that are meant to support Comcast Xfinity boxes. Don't bother looking for codes for Cox Contour, or even for the specific manufacturer of the box they give you. Cox just licensed the Xfinity technology from Comcast so all of the IR codes meant to control Xfinity boxes work just fine. I was given the Arris XG1 boxes, but I'm pretty sure that all Xfinity / Contour 2 boxes use the same IR code set. The only thing you won't be able to do with a third party remote is utilize the voice control features (since these require a direct RF connection and the mic built into the Cox provided remote). Everything else worked easily and exactly as expected. For any problems you may run into, don't bother Googling about "Cox Contour 2". Just research Comcast Xfinity and you will find all the answers you need. Re: Showtime Anytime Internal Error I'm getting the same error. As of yesterday, can't connect to Showtime Anytime on my iPhone, iPad, Roku media player, or through the website on my PC. Obviously not a device problem, so it must be an issue with Showtime &/or Cox.
